Moses Mukasa CDC Prevention Specialist Moses Mukasa, a national of Uganda has over 20 years of experience working with the United Nations. He worked in the management and delivery of international development assistance, particularly in reproductive health, family planning and HIV/AIDS. He served in several African countries as the representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), which is the United Nations agency responsible for population and development issues. For 10 years, he worked as the Senior Program Advisor with the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) in London (UK) and in Nairobi (Kenya), where he was responsible for providing technical assistance to various voluntary family planning organizations.
Prior to his international career, Mr. Mukasa worked as the Director of Statistical Services of the Government of Uganda. He has offered valuable professional voluntary services in the field of social work and community outreach programs in a number of countries. Mr. Mukasa obtained an M.A. in Economics, Statistics and Population Studies from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Makerere University in Uganda. He is a Pennsylvania certified HIV/AIDS Prevention Counselor and an alumni AmeriCorps member for the ACTS National program. Today he is joining TPAC/WHCIs “HIV Prevention Project for Community Based Organizations” as a CDC HIV Prevention Specialist.
